On Wednesday night, the first Woodstock in the City screening (co-sponsored by the Woodstock Film Festival and Indiepix — of Frank Popper’s incredible CAN MR. SMITH STILL GET TO WASHINGTON? was a ravishing success.

Playing to a full house at the lovely Makor cinema, the film captivated and impressed; every person I talked to at the reception was inspired by the story of Jeff Smith, a tiny firecracker of a guy with a notable lisp and boundless energy. The Q & A was long and interesting, and the reception filled with interesting conversations.

IndiePix was well represented at the American Library Convention, June 22-28, where we were presenting The Katrina Experience. Working with Nancy Buirski, the CEO, Founder and Creative Director of the Full Frame Documentary Festival, we are offering a set of 8 documentary films on the impact of the Katrina Hurricane on the people of New Orleans. There were over 10,000 people at the convention — some reports were as high as 18,000! And we talked to a lot of librarians about this project. We’ll have more news on these titles as we move closer to the release date of the collection.
