IFF Boston — Candlepin Bowling, Excellent Films, and a Panel to Boot!

Posted by: Danielle

Hey all. It took me about 4 days to re-engage in the world after my time at the amazingly fun IFF Boston. I have already blogged about the film highlights, so now it’s time to shout out all of the Indiepix pals who helped make this year’s incarnation unforgettable: the inimitable Michael Tully and Damian Lahey , director and writer of upcoming Indiepix title Cocaine Angel ; the irrepressible, dynamic duo of David Redmon and Ashley Sabin (hopefully, soon-to-be Indiepix filmmakers); boy wonder Matthew Lessner and numerous others. I had the pleasure of taking all the action in with my good pals Jordan Mattos and Joe Pacheco (with myself and Lessner) in the photo below.
Foursome
I also had the pleasure of participating in a really fun and engaging panel called NON-THEATRICAL DISTRIBUTION FOR FILMMAKERS with Ben Campbell of OurStage and one of my favorite folks in the biz, South by Southwest producer Matt Dentler. Moderated by Michael Bowes of Central Productions , the panel was really well-attended by an enuthusiastic and curious group of local filmmakers, all of whom crowded around me after the panel. Though I’m still getting used to this public speaking thing, I am starting to loosen up a bit, and this is one of the most fun panels I have been on, thanks in large part to Matt, who is articulate, knowledgable, and pretty damn funny. Best of all, he’s not afraid to call a spade a spade (or a geek a geek, in this particular case!) Panel
