IndiePix Studios Announced

Posted by: Bob

IndiePix has announced the formation of IndiePix Studios and has announced its location on the web at www.indiepixstudios.com. This new force and this new location on the internet will be the focal point for IndiePix’s connection with its growing number of filmmakers. We want this effort to be an online “virtual studio” which will enable independent filmmakers to submit their films for distribution via IndiePixFilms.com. In addition, filmmakers will be able to monitor sales and accounting statements, review contracts, network with other filmmakers from around the world, and review news and information concerning independent film. Over 10,000 independent films are made and submitted to film festivals each year and of those only about two per cent are ever presented to consumers through theatrical screenings, DVD releases or television broadcast. The new IndiePix Studios will provide a major new production and distribution outlet for these filmmakers.

IndiePix works directly with a number of independent filmmakers every year to provide vital production and finishing funds for film projects and the new website aims to formalise this submission and financing process. Since its launch, IndiePix has worked with over 150 filmmakers, including director Jennifer Venditti and producer Chiemi Karasawa on the award-winning documentary essay “Billy the Kid”, and Jeremy and Randy Stulberg on compelling American lifestyle documentary “Off the Grid”. The website’s primary objective will be to increase the transparency and visibility of individual filmmaker’s™ earnings from IndiePixfilms.com by providing up-to-date online sales and rental information.

“This is an important step for IndiePix,” commented Bob Alexander, President of IndiePix. “Our filmmaker team receives roughly 10 films a week from independent filmmakers. These films require help from funding to distribution strategies. By launching this site and combining our staff resources under the IndiePix Studios umbrella, we will be able to better serve the filmmakers we work with and those who bring us new projects.”

“Traditional distribution models are not working for these filmmakers,” Bob Alexander continued. “This new virtual studio — echoed in our office by a newly organized and expanded filmmaker team — is a really exciting development for the independent film community.”

“IndiePix is strongly committed to promoting the careers of promising up and coming filmmakers. The number of really talented people and the range of their voices and visions is so rich and exciting. This new structure will give us more resources to work with to support these filmmakers,” Bob Alexander concluded.

IndiePixfilms.com currently has over 3,100 independent films from around the world in its online catalogue. Titles include award-winning art house, foreign, and documentary films, as well as collections, animations, and short films unavailable anywhere else. Films are available to buy online via DVD or visitors can use IndiePix’s “Download-to-Own” technology for a professional quality DVD, straight to a computer.
